SERVICE & COVERAGE

What is LTE Wi-Fi and how is it different from fibre or ADSL?

LTE (Long Term Evolution) Wi-Fi is a wireless internet service that connects your home or business to the internet via the same 4G cellular towers used by your mobile phone — no cables, no digging, no waiting for a technician to trench your street. Primelink delivers a plug-and-play LTE router that you simply insert a SIM into and power on. You're online in minutes. Primelink LTE works anywhere in South Africa where there is MTN, Vodacom, or Telkom 4G signal — which covers over 97% of the country's populated areas. No fibre waiting list. No landlord approval needed.

Because Primelink uses South Africa's national 4G LTE networks — including MTN, Vodacom, and Telkom — our service is available virtually everywhere in the country, from Sandton to the Karoo. There is no restricted coverage zone or fibre rollout map to check. Urban and suburban areas: Excellent 4G signal with speeds up to 150 Mbps Peri-urban and township areas: Strong 4G coverage across all nine provinces Rural and smallholding areas: Good coverage where 4G towers are present Remote areas: Where 4G is unavailable, our LTE router automatically falls back to 3G You can use the interactive coverage map on our homepage to enter your address and confirm signal strength in your area. For rural properties or smallholdings, we recommend WhatsApp-ing us your GPS coordinates for a signal assessment before ordering.

BILLING, ACCOUNTS & SUPPORT

How does billing work and how do I pay my monthly invoice?

Primelink bills monthly in advance. Your first invoice is generated on the date your service activates and covers the remainder of that month on a pro-rata basis. Thereafter, billing recurs on the same date each month. Debit order (recommended): Automatic monthly debit from your bank account — set up during signup EFT / bank transfer: Manual payment using your invoice number as reference Credit / debit card: One-click payment via our secure online customer portal. Invoices are emailed to your registered email address on your billing date. You can also view, download, and pay all invoices from your account dashboard at primelinktelecoms.co.za/account. If you need to update your payment details, log in and navigate to Billing > Payment Methods.

Most connectivity issues can be resolved in under 5 minutes without calling support. Try these steps first: Restart your router: Hold the power button for 10 seconds, wait 30 seconds, then power on again Check signal strength: The LTE indicator on your router should show at least 2 bars. Reposition your router near a window or higher surface for better signal Check our status page: Visit primelinktelecoms.co.za/status for live network outage information Reboot connected devices: Sometimes the issue is the device, not the router Check your account status: Log in to confirm your account is active and payment is up to date.
